Paula has  created a minimalist interpretation of one of the doors of the Fairfield Hills duplexes for this year’s signature art for the 2025 Newtown Arts Festival. This design will be available at The Festival in t-shirts and posters. T-shirts will be black. The volunteer t-shirts will be royal blue with the same artwork.

Paula Brinkman’s two-year beautification project at Fairfield Hills that resulted in The Doors at Fairfield Hills and several painted windows on boarded up buildings, won her a grant from the Newtown Cultural Arts Commission .

She recruited  three artists to create new "front doors" for the duplexes at Fairfield Hills. Three other artists who collaborated on the Doors project were Dave Brooker, Julia Sikes-Provey, and Kristine Humber.

Paula also created the Signature Art for the 2019 Newtown Arts Festival.

Paula graduated from UConn in 1986 with a degree in graphic design. Computer generated art barely existed at the time, and to this day she prefers creating things by hand. New York City was her home for many years. She worked in advertising, then as a freelance illustrator for numerous editorial and publishing companies. Her final and best chapter in the city was working on Broadway, styling wigs for some of the top shows at the time.

Life then brought her to Key West, where her daughter was born. They returned to Newtown in 2006. She is still creating (@heartsonpavement), and has the pleasure of sharing her love of art with pre-K children at Trinity Day School.
