Festival History
ART IS UNQUESTIONABLY ONE OF THE PUREST AND HIGHEST ELEMENTS IN HUMAN HAPPINESS.

Newtown Arts Festival History and Mission
In 2012, The Newtown Cultural Arts Commission had an extraordinary vision. The nine-member Commission established the Newtown Arts Festival to promote and support the local arts community. Through arts-inspired entertainment, education, exhibits, and commerce and squads of volunteers, the Commission supported the arts Community in Newtown.
Now in its 11th year, the Festival showcases all forms of creative expression –visual arts, dance, music, the written word, and theater–in the setting of a town-wide celebration. This special event is the product of hundreds of people coming together and sharing their artistic expression.
Every year we have had the extraordinary work of Marleen Cafarelli to document the joy and delight that is the Festival. We invite you to visit the history through her eyes in link below.
Festival proceeds support grants and scholarships for local artists and arts organizations, future festivals, and other Cultural Arts Commission initiatives.
The magic that results from this Festival is truly inspiring.
