Feature Artist

Meet Ryan Patrick

How very perfect that the artist of the signature art of the 2022 Newtown Arts Festival, Ryan Patrick,21, says he “grew up with the festival,” now in its tenth year. Now in his fourth year of a five-year program at Northeastern University majoring in Graphic Design, Ryan said of his hometown, “Newtown is lively by nature and nothing exemplifies this more than its diverse art scene.”

His winning design, which has the appearance of a woodblock, includes so much that represents Newtown. The Rooster, the Flagpole, even the gazebo that evokes Holcombe Hill, all speak of Newtown. Ryan also has worked as a shoe designer, is currently a graphic designer for the Boston red Sox and continues his freelance work with private clients. Being chosen to design the signature art for the 2022 Newtown Arts Festival means his work will be available on t-shirts and posters and will be on all the festival’s promotional material.

The Festival Opening Concert is Friday September 16th at Edmond Town Hall followed by two days of outdoor arts, music, food and fun September 17-18, on the grounds of Fairfield Hills.
